LEARNING FROM DEALS

Your last deal knows something your next one needs.

Turn outcomes, buyer feedback and delivery experience into usable commercial memory instead of repeatedly learning the same lesson.

Most organisations have more commercial evidence than they use.

It sits in old bid folders.

  • Evaluator feedback.
  • Win and loss notes.
  • Contract reviews.
  • Delivery conversations.
  • Emails explaining what went wrong.
  • People who remember why a decision was made three years ago.

Then the next opportunity arrives and the organisation starts again.

The names are different. The buyer is different. The document is new.

But some of the decision patterns are not.

The problem

Experience only becomes useful when it survives the people who experienced it.

A lost bid may reveal that the same evidence gap has appeared before.

A difficult contract may show that one type of commitment is repeatedly underestimated.

A renewal may expose assumptions that should have been tested much earlier.

A strong evaluator comment may identify an approach worth repeating.

But if those lessons remain scattered across documents and memories, the next decision cannot use them.

Commercial memory should answer questions like

  • Have we seen this kind of opportunity before?

  • What happened?

  • Which assumptions proved wrong?

  • What did buyers repeatedly praise or criticise?

  • Which commitments became difficult after the win?

  • Where do we consistently have strong evidence?

  • Which decisions keep producing the same outcome?

What already sits underneath the Deal Desk

The Deal Desk is designed so a deal's outcome doesn't disappear after the deadline.

Deals, supporting documents, previous decisions, outcomes and buyer feedback can remain connected to the organisation's commercial history.

When a decision point passes, the platform is designed to record what happened and, where available, bring buyer feedback into the organisation's evidence for later decisions.

Where the Deal Desk is going

Learn

ROADMAP DECISION

Learn is the closing loop of the Deal Desk lifecycle.

Its purpose is to surface meaningful patterns from the commercial history being built underneath the platform, so the organisation doesn't have to rediscover the same lesson one deal at a time.

The data loop begins before the standalone Learn experience does.

That distinction matters.

We are not promising a future feature that somehow creates organisational memory later. The Deal Desk is designed to start preserving the evidence from the beginning, with Learn intended to make those patterns increasingly visible as its own decision experience.

A win should leave more than revenue. A loss should leave more than disappointment.

Keep the evidence.

Keep the reasoning.

Keep what the deal taught you.

Then let the next decision start further ahead.
